Florence Putterman was awarded a National Endowment Grant in 1979 and has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Pennsylvania State University in 1988 and fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Arts in 1983 and 1984. Her paintings and prints can be seen in many museums, university and corporate collections, including ; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York: The Chicago Art Institute; The Philadelphia Museum of Art; The Palmer Museum, Penn State, PA ; Ringling Museum, Sarasota, FL; The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; The Telfair Museum, Savannah, GA ; The Gulf Coast Museum, Largo, FL; Albany Museum of Art, Albany, GA; The Polk Museum, Lakeland,FL; Everson Museum, Syracuse, NY; and many others.
